Michael F. Rogers

Michael F. Rogers focuses his practice in tax and estate planning for individuals and businesses, as well as estate and trust administration. Mike has been appointed by various courts as a fiduciary in complex estate matters, and as the Guardian of the Estate of individuals whose affairs require his distinctive proficiency.

With more than 40 years of experience, Mike assists financially successful clients achieve their long-term goals through carefully devised strategies that capitalize on tax minimization techniques consistent with their lifestyle preferences and business needs. His approach is to understand his clients and their unique circumstances so that they can jointly develop a strategy with which they are comfortable.

Mike can help with a variety of business and personal planning essentials. On the personal side, he works with clients to design financial methods to protect and distribute property, utilizing trusts and other strategies as needed.

He also advises clients on lifetime gift giving strategies involving business entities including corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships and other appropriate entities.

In addition to formulating a personal blueprint for his clients, Mike often implements approaches for their businesses. He is well-versed in handling business restructurings, sales of business interests, seller-financed asset sales and business continuation agreements. He is trusted by his clients to handle both personal and business succession planning, making the process easy and convenient.

Formerly, Mike served as vice president and senior tax manager for Butcher and Company, a regional investment banking firm. This background provides him with an exclusive perspective, having worked with clients on the same issues in a different role. Mike was also a member of the tax department of a global Big 4 accounting and professional services firm and is a Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive license). He has also been a shareholder of several Philadelphia area law firms, specializing in tax and estate planning.

A frequent lecturer, Mike helps individuals, attorneys, accountants, and other advisors understand and navigate the planning processes. He keeps clients and colleagues in the field up to date on the important aspects of each step and is always well-informed on significant changes as they happen. For many years, Mike was the editor of Assets, a bimonthly estate planning newsletter, and a co-editor of the Estate Planning Strategies column of the Journal of Financial Service Professionals.

Mike and his wife, Diane, spend most of their time in Rehoboth Beach, Del, near their extended families. They are the proud parents of three daughters and grandparents of five grandchildren.
